›› the disease it'll spread like wildfire
Before the landing of "watership", before the packs, the groups, the talk of rebellion, before all of that were humans. Humans who came to set up small factories on Henry Island, who did experiments for the government which are unknown.
They tested on animals, ran projects, and might have discovered something awful.
But before you knew it, they were gone. Labs and factories left abandoned, and the island left barren. It is said the disease came from their buildings.
The disease is most commonly related to necrosis, which helped give its name "Warping Necrosis". As of right now it is very rare to come directly in contact with the substance that causes Warping Necrosis, usually cases have been popping up in small animals. These creatures will carry the disease for a week or so then die from the extreme symptoms. Larger animals would take these diseased carcasses as prey, specially during the winter when prey is scarce, and become carriers of the sickness.
Symptoms are also similar to its cousin illness as well. The animal would experience fatigue, nausea, and fever, as the first stage. The second stage would cause hallucinogens and bring the victim into a stage of delusion, usually brief. How fast stage one and two go depend on the animal's size. Finally, stage three being fatal, begins with a full body rot of the skin and organs. The animals blood seems to turn to poison, causing large, painful, rotting sores to appear on the body until the poor thing dies of exhaustion.
How it got here, and more importantly how to stop it is a mystery. As the disease spreads its showing stronger symptoms, making its hosts live longer...
