›› Tale of Invert how the problems all began
The year is 1979, four years after the end of the Vietnam War. A ship touches land called Henry, a island off the eastern Canadian coastline. Coldmoor was the first and only city built on the shore, and home to animals and humans alike. Each waging they're own personal war on each other. Drama between friends, enemies and blood. But if the basic instinct to survive wasn't enough, things got much, much worse.
Coldmoor continues to grow, the once modest town now beginning to stretch east to west with each passing month. Packs of dogs form and roam the streets, threatening the balance of humans and canines. Small ships come in bringing more people, a hazard to the animal community. Tensions rise as crime, poverty, and stress start to take effect. Equilibrium is the goal. Those who were once considered pet's now fight for control of their new home, canceling out humans completely. In a place of lies, cheats, and losers, man struggles to regain control. But thats the least of their worries.
In the Outerlands, away from the watchful eyes of city folk, are ruins. A cemetery of laboratory's and factories showing what used to be Henry Island, a government research facility. During the ending years of the Vietnam War, America had purchased a small island off the Canadian coastline for testing. Showing how the mighty country was desperate for technological advantages in there losing battle. Something sick and corrupt was kept in the Black Lands, and when 1975 marked the ending of the war so did the use of the island for four more years. The cryptic buildings loom in the horizon, nobody dares go near them to explore; to take the risk. Why should they when they have a unaffected town of their own?
But a disease is spreading, affecting prey, canines, and humans without mercy. It starts out small, fever and fatigue, then begins to eat the body from the inside out. Nobody seems to notice, but the sickness shows no signs of stopping. Where it even came from is a mystery itself. But its growing, the illness's victims are getting stronger; smarter even. Those who haven't died from it grow a blood lust, if they're looks weren't unsightly enough.
Something, clearly, isn't the same...
Their peaceful city is a facade, danger leers it's ugly face, what lengths will you go to reach equilibrium?
